phAUTOmaton (belgian premiere)

phAUTOmaton  is a participatory work which will occur in the three places which are partners for Transnumériques (Manège de Sury, La Fabrique des Singes and the Design House). The public is invited to write a word or a sentence. Once it is typed and checked, it provides a real-time picture of each participant. Once his pose and sentence are chosen, the person validates a second time, thus, the textured image is shot. The photo appears in real time, on a website dedicated to the event. This site, which is presented as a kind of photo gallery, highlights the link between faces and thoughts and connects them in a face shape community.

The site that welcomes participation becomes a new form of social network based on the singular expression of a face and a sentence.

With the support of Transcultures and La Quinzaine des Arts du Futur.

Shape of memory - presentation (Trandémo)

Shape of memory is a generative work operating in real time with the Web, which puts into perspective the flow of images, videos, text and logic of oblivion that characterizes them. The work is presented as streaming forms of change remixing thousands of images (taken from Flickr), video (from YouTube) and texts (from Wikipedia), from what determines the nature of the digital memory of visibility criteria: the hits . Thus, more than simple data representation, this piece is about indexing the degree of degradation of the data representation, showing its internal rift that is none other than his accumulative objectivity linked to the affect, the choice of men. That would produce a machine wanting to rebuild man from current human criteria to reference the digital memory?

With this installation, the spectator travels into the world of this memory and can interact directly with the database that is progressively deteriorating as well.

Philippe Boisnard

Philippe Boisnard’s work has questioned for many years the formation of man through the materiality of the codes and representations related to the political dimension as well as the social or economic dimensions. His installations or performances aim at considering technological processes dedicated to what constitutes our humanity. Boisnard is very concerned with the notion of DNA fragments and all his work deals with it. He creates installations or performances on his own, such as phAUTOmaton or Reality piecemeal.

He also works in combination with other artists like Hortense Gauthier, with whom he is part of the duo hp process, Arnaud Courcelle or the musician Gaëtan Gromer. Furthermore he worked for theatrical digital creations, such as Money created by Anne Theron, and performed in the Avignon Festival IN. As Databaz center artistic director, he has programmed many experimental music and digital performances evenings.
